In 1993 Ian Nosworthy left Finlaysons to establish Nosworthy Partners. Having spent his practising life as a partner of or creating big firms and having spent more than 10 years advising government about the introduction of computer systems into legal practice, Ian sought to combine big firm "know how" with the efficiencies of computerisation for the benefit of clients.

In 1998 Nosworthy Partners moved to "Roper Street Chambers" at 21 Roper Street in the business precinct. The chambers were opened by Justice von Doussa of the Federal Court.

With carefully controlled growth, the firm continues to focus on the provision of disputes and advisory service in a boutique environment, using arbitration and other methods of alternative dispute resolution (ADR).

We have a reputation for innovative legal practice in difficult matters, and are proud to have been described by more than one of our clients as "the thinking person's law firm".

The firm has a good mix of youth and experience, and a low overhead structure which permits the provision of timely advice economically.

We pride ourselves on the broad range of work which we undertake, whether for charitable institutions on a pro bono basis, individuals and families and both national and international corporations. We strive to provide commercially appropriate advice at all times.

We will be pleased to discuss how we can assist you.
